Let's start with the orientation of the octagon to the cardinal points which with error in half a degree indicates the direction to Sigiriya.

As in the case of the hexagram turn of octagon on 6.5 degrees counter-clockwise gives two pairs of mutually perpendicular azimuths, which divide the circle into 4 equal parts.

To these azimuths in such position of octagon joins direction to Solomon temple, which divides the angle between Non Madol and Lalibela in half.

Turn octagon on 10.5 degrees clockwise.
In such position, we see another pair of perpendicular directions to Easter island and Por Bajin.

In this position octagon gives two more directions to the island of Vera and Great Zimbabwe.
