Bakla is one of the notable and beautiful places in Crimea. It is 18 kilometres away from Simferopol. It lies on the south edge of Interior ridge. Steep and precipitous crests of two cuesta ridge overhang the vast valley, further to the east the top of Crimean Main ridge are seen at the distance. The nature shows alive example of gradual relief changes under influence of external earth powers during millions of years. What the sculptures had not been made by nature architect! At the edge of the mountain you can see the enormous 40-metres sphinx.
