It has functioned on the Kyiv-Pechery Lavra grounds since 1969. The museum contains unique trea-sures of the Ukrainian people - monu-ments of material culture of various epochs dating from the 6th century B.C. and to the present day. These are platinum, gold, silver, electrum works of art, including those decorated with diamonds, brilliants, rubies, pearls manufactured by masters of various epochs and people. Among these are world-wide masterpieces: a silver vase from the Gaimanova Mohyla (grave) Burial Mound and gold pectoral (breast ornament) from the Tovsta Mohyla Burial.
